Incubation Centre
Transforming innovative concepts into market-ready products.
Objective
The MKC Incubation Centre, approved in 2020 and supported by MSME, actively facilitates product development by providing resources, mentorship, and funding opportunities for innovative ideas. Through initiatives like the MSME Idea Hackathon, the centre has supported projects such as the Machine Learning-based Fully Automated Agriculture Crop Seeding, Monitoring, and Fertilizing Robot by Mr. R. Kamalesh and the Integrated e-Service for Plumbing, Electrical, and Carpentry Works by Mr. M. Sarankumar. These projects, approved under theme-based innovation programs, exemplify how the centre nurtures incubatees by aligning their ideas with industrial and societal needs.

Intellectual Property Management Cell
Protecting creations of the mind and fostering a culture of IP awareness.
Objective
Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) are crucial for protecting creations of the mind, akin to any other form of property right. To inculcate a culture of creation, innovation, and intellectual growth among students and faculty members, the IPM Cell of M. Kumarasamy College of Engineering, Karur, was inaugurated on 10th May 2017 by Dr. K. Ramakrishnan, Secretary of MKCE.
Regular workshops, seminars, and patent training series to educate faculty and students on various aspects of IPR, including patent filing process.
Idea camps organized to encourage students and faculty to brainstorm and develop innovative ideas, laying foundation for potential patents.
The cell identifies promising innovations and assists students and faculty in filing patents, copyrights, and designs.
Functions & Responsibilities
Awareness Creation
Promote a strong understanding of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) among faculty and students.
Patent Filing Training
Impart training on the patent filing process and guide faculty and students in protecting their innovations.
Workshops & Seminars
Organize workshops, seminars, and training programs focused on IPR, copyrights, designs, and patents.
Identifying IPs
Identify potential IPs created by students and faculty members and support them in protection and commercialization.
