About Us

The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was started in the academic year 2001 - 2002 with 60 intake, intake increased from 60 to 120 in the academic year 2009 - 2010, intake increased from 120 to 180 in the academic year 2013 - 2014. The PG Course with the specialization of Master of Power Systems Engineering was started with 24 intake in the academic year 2012- 2013. Our department has 8 laboratory venues with tremendous facility which is useful to conduct laboratory subject for UG and PG courses. Our department has Power System Simulation Lab with 61 Computers provided with 500 Mbps of Internet Facility and it has various softwares like MATLAB, Mi-Power, AU Power, Labview Software etc. Our department was signed MoU with 14 different industries. Our department library have 1684 volumes and 40 titles. Our department faculty members published papers in various National and International Journals, in addition 8 Books were published in various publications. Our department have qualified and experienced faculty with good Student Teacher Ratio (STR). The department has been constantly producing illustrious Engineering graduates of high caliber who occupy prestigious positions in the academia and industrial fields.

Program Educational Objectives(PEO)

The following Programme Educational Objectives are designed based on the Department Mission.

PEO1: Graduates will have a flourishing career in the core areas of Electrical Engineering and allied disciplines.

PEO2: Graduates will pursue higher studies and succeed in academic/research careers.

PEO3: Graduates will be a successful entrepreneur in creating jobs related to Electrical and Electronics Engineering /allied disciplines.

PEO4: Graduates will practice ethics and have a habit of continuous learning for their success in their chosen career.

Program Outcomes(PO)

After the successful completion of the B.E. Electrical and Electronics Engineering degree programme, the students will be able to:

PO1: Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

PO2: Problem analysis: Identity, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

PO3: Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

PO4: Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis, and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

PO5: Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

PO6: The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues, and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

PO7: Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

PO8: Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.

PO 9: Individual and teamwork: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.

PO10: Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.

PO11: Project management and finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.

PO12: Life-long learning: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change.

Program Specific Outcomes(PSO)

The following are the Program Specific Outcomes of Engineering Students:

PSO1: Apply the basic concepts of mathematics and science to analyze and design circuits, controls, Electrical machines, and drives to solve complex problems.

PSO2: Apply relevant models, resources, and emerging tools and techniques to provide solutions to power and energy-related issues & challenges.

PSO3: Design, Develop, and implement methods and concepts to facilitate solutions for electrical and electronics engineering related to real-world problems.
